LOWVILLE- The village is working to prepare another application for the seventh round of Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) funding.

$10 million will be available for the North Country region, with several communities aiming to compete for their piece of the pie.

Officials say this application will build on the momentum from the 2019, 2021 and 2022 submissions to highlight the Village’s historic downtown district, with partnerships emphasizing place-making and complete streets, affordable housing, community health and fitness, outdoor recreation, and business development opportunities.

More details, including support and ideas for submission, are available online.

Organized in partnership between the village, Naturally Lewis and Lewis County, a public input day is aimed for Thursday, September 14, 2023 at numerous village locations, with intents of gathering feedback for potential ideas in this application.

These locations include:

• Cafe Z, 7594 S State St, Lowville, NY from 8:00am – 12:00pm
• Crumbs. Bakeshop, 5421 Shady Ave, Lowville, NY from 8:00am – 12:00pm
