LOWVILLE- A village man is charged for unlawfully purchasing body armor.

The Village Police Department arrested Desmond L. Bond, 35, of Lowville, NY on Thursday for a misdemeanor charge of unlawful purchase of body armor (first offense).

According to police, the arrest stems from an incident on July 31, where Bond reportedly showed up to the Lowville Police Station while wearing a bullet resistant vest.

At press time, police said that Bond was processed and released on an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date.
