LOWVILLE- A local resident is faced with numerous charges after allegedly biting a police officer in Lewis County, authorities say.

According to the Lowville Village Police Department, Taylor Dennee, 27, of Glenfield, NY is formally charged with criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree; resisting arrest; assault in the third-degree; aggravated unlicensed operation; unregistered motor vehicle; uninsured motor vehicle and improper plates.

The Chief of Police says that all of these charges stem from an incident that occurred on July 27 in Tops Parking lot.

While investigating the vehicle and traffic violations, patrols allege that Dennee attempted to walk away from the scene.

When officers attempted intervening, it’s reported that Dennee fought back and resisted. During the scuffle, police say Dennee bit one of the officers, leaving a wound that required medical treatment.

In addition, police discovered that Dennee possessed meth during the incident.

Dennee was processed and issued an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court.
