Lowville woman accused of shoplifting alcoholic beverage from local grocery store, police allege

LOWVILLE- The village police department has filed a shoplifting related charge against a local resident.

On Tuesday, Tracy E. Brown, 50, of Lowville, NY was arrested for one count of petit larceny. According to Chief of Police Daryl R. Ortlieb, patrols investigated a shoplifting complaint at a local grocery store.

Police allege that Brown walked out of the establishment, which was not identified in official police reports, without paying for the alcoholic beverage(s) she possessed. 

Brown was issued with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Lowville Town Court at a later date. 

At press time, police said the investigation remains open and additional arrests are expected.
