Lowville Woman Jailed on a Felony Attempted Arson Charge

LOWVILLE-A 49 year old Lowville woman is facing a felony attempted arson charge following an arrest on Thursday. Lewis County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tammy Stevens of Lowville and charged her with Attempted Arson win the Second Degree-a Class C felony. It is alleged that Stevens intentionally started a fire that caused damage to a residence on Campbell Street in the Village of Lowville on Saturday, August 27th. Stevens was arraigned in the Town of Lowville Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail in lieu of $25,000.00 cash bail of $50,000.00 bond. Deputies were assisted by the Lowville Village Police and New York State Forest Rangers.
