HARRISBURG- A man was treated for head and leg injuries after wrecking his snowmobile sled Tuesday night in Lewis County, emergency officials say.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the Kubinski Road, town of Harrisburg, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Bystanders told deputies that driver, identified as Thomas J. Marcellus, 41, of Ontario, NY, was found trapped underneath his 2022 Ski-Doo sled. It had overturned on-top of him.
Details describing how Marcellus crashed his sled were not provided from authorities. However, he was immediately treated and transported with head and leg injuries.
With that being said, police ended up ticketing Marcellus for unregistered snowmobile, operating on a closed road, speeds not reasonable or prudent and an invalid registration sticker.
Members from Lewis County Search & Rescue and Lowville Fire Department all provided assistance on scene.
