Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, February 24, 2023
As we wrap up the month of February, Mother Nature has gifted the North Country with a fresh batch of snow.
It’s nothing major, but it seems like grooming crews have fired back up to the best of their ability.
In Boonville, NY and surrounding areas, a fresh batch of snow (between 5 to 6-inches) accumulated late Wednesday night into early Thursday.
Numerous clubs have been re-opening whatever trails they can. Conditions seem to vary.
Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Montague Trails were groomed Thursday night; beware of icy corners and other hazards.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Most trails are open; conditions vary.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Enough snow to open; little base leftover; grooming may be possible this weekend.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Groomers are rolling; conditions vary; West Leyden Trail will not be groomed.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Fresh snow reported; but still no grooming.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Riding still limited to the upper trails; conditions vary.
Ohio Ridge Riders: No updates since February 9.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Fair to good conditions; 4-inches of base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: No recent updates.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: C-ville Trails CLOSED; all other trails are fair to good.
Trackside Blazers: No grooming; trails are open; conditions vary; Trail C7 CLOSED; avoid C4H to North Lake.
Turin Ridge Riders: Trail conditions vary; most lower trails are open, but thin; Tug Hill Trails have best coverage.
Valley Snow Travelers: Most Tug Hill Trails are groomed; all trails to Lowville are open.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
