Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, January 31, 2025
Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.
Another weekend of riding has arrived and sled traffic is expected to be intense.
Generally speaking, there is still quite an impressive snowpack all around Central and Northern New York. It's no secret that January, 2025 will certainly go down as one of the best months for riding in years, according to numerous accounts from snowmobilers and snowmobile clubs.
As a reminder with heavy sled traffic, snowmobilers are urged to obey the speed limit and to use extra caution.
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Groomers have been out and trails remain in good shape.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Groomers were out this week and conditions remain good.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Conditions are expected to be good for the weekend.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails look to be in good shape for the weekend.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Groomers are busy packing in fresh snow. Trails remain good.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: No new reports since January 25.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails have been good and groomers have been out.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Though some soft spots are reported, conditions still remain good.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Groomers have been out; traffic has been steady.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Conditions are expected to be fantastic for the weekend.
Trackside Blazers: Groomers have been busy preparing for weekend riding.
Turin Ridge Riders: All trails are open and lower trails have improved with better snow coverage.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails have been groomed and conditions remain very good.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
