Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Friday, March 7, 2025
March has arrived and the snowmobiling season continues on across Central and Northern New York.
It is that time of year… despite an absolutely incredible snowmobiling season, now is the time when folks seriously need to start considering the fact that trail conditions can change on a day-to-day basis.
After a week’s worth of mild weather and rainfall, temperatures are expected to trend more on the cooler side for the weekend.
A few inches of fresh snowfall were observed throughout the Central and Northern New York area on Friday.
Compared to a couple of weeks ago, there is certainly a noticeable decrease in the snowpack, but there is still quite a bit of snow left to go.
Considering that this season has certainly been second to none, snowmobilers are certainly going to start noticing the spring like conditions on the trails, but riding should be enjoyable for the most part this weekend.
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Some fresh snow reported, but spring like conditions remain.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Gates have been closed for C7B, C5K and C5A.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Expect varying conditions.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Groomers have been out and good conditions reported.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Expect varying conditions.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails have held up well this week.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Water hazards have been reported (use caution).
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Fair to good conditions expected for the weekend.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are hard, some water reported.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are expected to remain good for the weekend.
Trackside Blazers: Grooming has resumed (watch for water holes).
Turin Ridge Riders: Tug Hill Trails are open; lower trails have become thin.
Valley Snow Travelers: Tug Hill trails were groomed Thursday night.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
