Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, February 22, 2024

Published on February 22, 2024

Missing Link Trails February 2024

And just like that, riding conditions have taken another dramatic downturn after a brief window where the trails were pretty decent overall.

High temperatures have climbed back up well above freezing and despite a forecasted cold snap this Saturday, it appears that predicted high temperatures are expected to soar back up into the 40’s and 50’s by the middle of next week.

Some snowmobile clubs have closed their trail systems. Several reports suggest that the overall snow coverage has thinned down significantly this week.

Here are the latest reports we have gathered:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Copenhagen Trails are CLOSED. Tom Sawyer Trail is CLOSED. Expect thin conditions elsewhere.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: C7B and C5A are CLOSED to Lyons Falls and Glenfield. Trails east of Brantingham are groomed.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open, however; conditions range from poor to fair.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: For now, trails remain open as of this report. Expect changing conditions.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED as of Wednesday night.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails have been good up until this report, but expect changing conditions.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are now CLOSED.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Conditions range from marginal to fair, with up to 3-inches of packed base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Expect changing conditions.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails in Highmarket are holding up, while other trails are losing coverage.

Trackside Blazers: Stay tuned for updates.

Turin Ridge Riders: Tug Hill trails are open; lower trails are now CLOSED.

Valley Snow Travelers: Grooming is ceased until more snowfall arrives; Lowville Trails heading towards Maples are CLOSED.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
