Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, January 25, 2024
Rain, rain, and more… RAIN. Trails across the Tug Hill, Central New York Region, North Country and Western Adirondacks have all deteriorated amidst rain and very mild temperatures this week.
More trail closures have been announced and more clubs have suspended grooming, until conditions improve.
There are several water holes and mud patches that have been reported.
Here are the latest reports we have obtained:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Poor, fair and some good conditions have been reported. Several water holes reported (TOM SAWYER TRAIL GATES CLOSED).
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Lower trails are CLOSED (no access to Tug Hill from Lyons Falls or Glenfield).
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: No active grooming until weather conditions allow.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: No grooming until further notice; Carthage to Belfort was CLOSED this week; expect mud and water holes.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails are open (except C4J); coverage gets thinner further south.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal conditions; grooming is suspended until further notice.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: No grooming until further notice.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Seasonal roads remain open, but lower trails east of State Route 26 and West Road are CLOSED.
Valley Snow Travelers: No grooming Wednesday night.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
