Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Thursday, January 8, 2026

It appears that conditions may be iffy over the next few days ahead.
With some select townships in Oswego County receiving tremendous lake effect snowfall last week, the North Country area did benefit from some of that monster snow dump, but comparatively we did not receive nearly as much.
As we ease our way through this first week of the brand new year, Mother Nature has flipped the pattern over to warm, with rain in the forecast, too.
If you plan on coming up to ride, be mindful that conditions may very well change on a day to day basis.
Here are some of the latest trail reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:
NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates (you can also check in with your favorite snowmobile clubs for more in-depth details).

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: No official updates since January 3 (expect varying conditions).
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Lower trails are CLOSED; upper trails are open, but varying conditions.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
