Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, February 06, 2024
We’re almost a week into February and it’s still the same old pattern the North Country has endured so far this winter: no fresh snow anywhere.
Several clubs are still unable to groom, as the snowpack is very minimal to non-existent off from Tug Hill. In the Western Adirondacks, reports suggest that grooming remains limited.
Clubs that have trails up on Tug Hill have been doing their best with what’s left to work with.
The forecast is calling for another warm-up and rain this week, but on the brighter side of things, Old Man Winter may make a comeback starting the latter half of February.
According to the latest temperature trend outlooks from the National Weather Service, the Northeastern U.S. is aimed to endure either normal or slightly below normal temperatures as we head towards March.
Time will tell on where the pattern swings and if it stirs up any additional snow accumulation. Speaking of which, as of January 31, the Boonville, NY region stands only at 68.15-inches of snow.
Meanwhile, official recordings for the Highmarket, NY region suggest only 119.1-inches of snow accumulated as of January 31.
