Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, February 07, 2023

On the heels of some brutal cold temperatures, Mother Nature has kicked Old Man Winter to the curb, again; with another mild stretch of weather forecasted this week.

We ran into some snowmobilers over the weekend and comments varied from “it’s okay” to “pretty good.”

Although several trail systems remain open, it seems there are sections that have developed thinner snow and base coverage. Beware of water and mud holes.

Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails have thinner coverage and base; rocks are being reported.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are open; groomers worked over the weekend.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open; coverage varies; some fresh snow; base is thin. 

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are open; coverage is thin.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails are passable; but coverage has thinned down; mud and water holes reported. 

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails remain open; icy corners reported.

Ohio Ridge Riders: No updates since February 2; C4H CLOSED from S-46A to South Lake. Past C4 and C4C junction towards Salisbury and Jerseyfield CLOSED. 

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails remain in fair to good shape; with two to six-inches of solid base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: No recent updates; decent conditions last reported; groomers were out to Hinckley, Alder Creek and Steuben.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: All trails are open; good to excellent conditions reported near Highmarket; lower trails are thin.

Trackside Blazers: Trails have been holding up the best they can; conditions may change with impending weather forecast. 

Turin Ridge Riders: Better conditions on Tug Hill; lower trails have thinner coverage. 

Valley Snow Travelers: Trails have taken their toll; groomers were out Sunday night on the entire trail system.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
