Snowmobiling 2025 marches on across upstate New York and the North Country.

Another monster lake effect snow-blitz started unleashing along the eastern shores of Lake Ontario on Monday, particularly for parts of Oswego County, Oneida County and the very southern edge of Lewis County.

For context on how much havoc this storm has unleashed upon local communities, the Lost Trail Snowmobile Club in Boonville, NY has temporarily shut down their trail system, as club officials cite several downed tree limbs and other debris.

It’s reported that Boonville’s trail system should be up and running again come later in the day on Tuesday (February 18, 2025).

A few other select trail systems nearby are cleaning up from a heavy snow dump and snowmobilers are asked to be patient with the process.

Beware of general debris throughout the North Country in the wake of a high wind event.

On a good note, sled traffic was very busy again over the weekend and the weather conditions look fantastic for the rest of this week.

If you’re riding down towards Rome, Marcy, and Utica and beyond, be mindful that there may be some glitches to deal with down that way while towns and communities continue digging out from this latest snowstorm.

Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:
