Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, January 23, 2024
It seems like a lot of sled traffic was reported over the weekend.
Overall, conditions vary on where you choose to ride. Some reports have been good to great, while others not so much.
Speaking of which, the weather forecast this week ahead looks dismal at a glance, with temperatures well into the 40’s and rain.
If you’re up to ride, be sure to watch for water holes, mud and thin areas of coverage. Here are the latest reports:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Grooming crews have been busy; use caution on the trails.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are open and groomers have been out.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails from New Bremen to Harrisville have been groomed, with good coverage.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are open, but not much for snow coverage (WEST LEYDEN TRAIL REMAINS CLOSED).
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Conditions vary and grooming crews have been out.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails are open (except C4J); coverage gets thinner further south.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails from Norway to Haskell’s are groomed. Some thin spots through Cooper Road and then good from there north.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Good conditions reported, 2 to 5-inches of packed base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Use caution and watch for thin areas.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails near Highmarket and Camp 4 Road are in good shape.
Trackside Blazers: Conditions vary from good to not so good.
Turin Ridge Riders: Seasonal roads remain in good shape, but coverage thins east off from Tug Hill.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails from Montague to Tabolts Corners to Flat Rock Inn have all been groomed.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
