Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, March 18, 2025
Spring officially arrives this week and it looks like the end is near.
So far, March has been on the very mild side of things and most of our snow-pack has been on a gradual decline over the last few weeks, but amidst recent rain and warm temperatures, a lot of trail closures have occurred since our last reports were published.
It seems as if though there are still some riding opportunities on the seasonal roads, but several trails have been closed off from Tug Hill.
In the Western Adirondacks, marginal conditions are being reported.
With very little snowfall so far this month, grooming opportunities have been extremely limited to non-existent.
Regardless, the snowmobiling season in New York State for the winter season of 2024 – 2025 will simply be remembered as one of the best ever.
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are CLOSED; seasonal roads remain open.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails have CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails have CLOSED.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: No updates since March 14 (trails were still open then).
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails have CLOSED.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal conditions reported.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: As of March 15, riders should expect varying conditions.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLSOED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Trails are CLOSED; seasonal roads have mixed reports.
Valley Snow Travelers: No updates since March 9.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
