Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Tuesday, March 4, 2025
March has arrived and the snowmobiling season continues on across Central and Northern New York.
It is that time of year… despite an absolutely incredible snowmobiling season, now is the time when folks seriously need to start considering the fact that trail conditions can change on a day-to-day basis.
Even though the snowpack has started to erode, there is still plenty of snow throughout Central and Northern New York.
However, temperatures are expected to be well above freeing through Thursday, with significant rain in the forecast, too.
Meanwhile, another warm-up has been forecasted for the middle of the month.
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Fair to good conditions; snow has turned soft.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails were groomed over the weekend.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Expect varying conditions.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: No grooming for the time being (watch for water).
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Copenhagen and Maples trails have been groomed recently.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Groomers were busy over the weekend.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Groomers have been out (ride while you can).
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Fair to good conditions remain since the weekend.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails have been good (ride while you can).
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: No grooming expected until the end of this week.
Trackside Blazers: Four groomers went out Monday night.
Turin Ridge Riders: Grooming is suspended until cooler weather returns.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails on Tug Hill have been groomed.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
