Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, December 31, 2025

Some impressive snowfall is expected to continue accumulating here in the North Country.
Just this week on Tuesday, there was an incredibly intense band of lake effect snow that stretched nearly 800-miles from the upper great lakes!
Though the majority of that incredible band fell down and out towards Syracuse and the Mohawk Valley, forecasters are still predicting another round to dump up to three-feet of snow across the Tug Hill before by the weekend.
We will keep an eye on the latest weather updates. Here are some of the latest trail reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails to Montague are good; lower trails are poor to fair.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Lower trails have re-opened, but the Kovach Trail remains CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Upper trails are open (use caution); lower trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are open, with early season and varying conditions.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Northern trails were groomed Tuesday night.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Groomers are active and trails are open.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Good conditions overall; fresh snowfall reported.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Groomers have been out towards Highmarket and Swancott Mills.
Trackside Blazers: Groomers are rolling and trails are open.
Turin Ridge Riders: Groomers are moving; upper trails are open; some lower trails CLOSED.
Valley Snow Travelers: Be mindful of icy corners and tree limbs.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
