Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, February 1, 2023

Published on February 01, 2023

Turin Ridge Riders Groomer 2023

“It’s better than having no snow to ride on.”

That seems to be a common remark we’ve heard echoed from snowmobilers as we charge towards another weekend.

Although there is some blockbuster cold forecasted this week, the forecast doesn’t seem to indicate any major snow events. With that being said, there is potential for some new, scattered snow accumulation.

Several trail systems have re-opened here locally, with some good conditions reported and some fair/not so good conditions as well.

Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:

NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails are open; groomers have been out.

Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are open; groomers have been out; lower trails have thinner snow.

Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open; coverage varies and the base is thin.

Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: All trails have re-opened; conditions vary and groomers have been out.

Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Thin but passable conditions; use caution.

Osceola Snowmobile Association: Trails are open and have been busy; conditions vary.

Ohio Ridge Riders: Groomers are working with what they have; coverage varies.

Old Forge/Town of Webb: Trails are fair to good, with up to 6-inches of base.

Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Groomers have worked with what snow is available.

Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Good conditions on seasonal roads/Tug Hill trails; thin conditions in the woods.

Trackside Blazers: Trails are open and coverage is thin; groomers have been out.

Turin Ridge Riders: Tug Hill Trails have been good; some lower trails have thinner coverage.

Valley Snow Travelers: Groomers have been out on the Tug Hill Trails; Lowville and Maples Trails are passable.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
