Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, February 21, 2024
Unfortunately, it seems as if the North Country region is on the verge of yet another dramatic swing in temperatures.
Sled traffic has reportedly been heavy since the last batch of snowfall, especially over this past weekend.
There are some reports that certain trail systems have begun thinning down. Some clubs are even warning that trail closures may occur, pending the outcome of the latest weather forecast.
Be mindful that conditions could change very quickly as the weekend approaches.
Here are the latest reports from out on the trails:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Snow coverage is thinning. Use caution.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Conditions may result in trail closures soon. There is still access to Tug Hill as of this report.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trails are open, however; conditions range from poor to fair.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are open. Stay tuned for more updates.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails towards Copenhagen are thinning down.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Conditions remain good overall, but coverage is thinning.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are open. Stay tuned for more updates.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Conditions range from fair to good, with up to 4-inches of packed base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are open; use caution and watch for hazards.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Trails are open and conditions range from fair to excellent.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are open; grooming crews have been active; watch for hazards.
Turin Ridge Riders: Tug Hill trails are open; lower trails are now CLOSED.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails are groomed from Montague, Flat Rock Inn and Tabolts Corners. Trails are thinning.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
