HERKIMER COUNTY- A snowmobile sled was pulled from the icy waters of a well-known reservoir last weekend in the Western Adirondacks.

It happened right around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, February 17 when New York State Forest Rangers Evans, Lee and Murphy all responded to a snowmobile sled that went through the ice on Stillwater Reservoir, town of Webb.

Fortunately, the operator was out of the water by the time emergency responders arrived, the New York State DEC said.

With that being said, the snowmobile had become completely submerged, DEC added.

Forest Rangers returned on Sunday to ensure safety while a tow operator retrieved the snowmobile from the icy water.

No injuries were reported.
