Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, February 22, 2023
Riding remains extremely limited, but things might take a turn for the better this week.
The National Weather Service has a winter storm warning up for the Tug Hill Region Wednesday night through Thursday.
Several clubs are saying if the storm pans out, grooming crews will likely get rolling again. We will be updating as the weekend approaches.
If you’re up riding as of this report, expect whatever trails are open to be on the thinner side and some icy conditions.
Here are the latest updates we’ve gathered:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Trails have been fair; ice base and no grooming for now.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: All trails are CLOSED.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Trails are CLOSED.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: No updates since February 12; best coverage has been Cedar Pines and north.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Marginal conditions; 1-inch of intermittent base.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails are CLOSED.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: Everything is bare (except seasonal roads near Highmarket); grooming is soon likely – pending the winter storm.
Trackside Blazers: Trails are CLOSED.
Turin Ridge Riders: Riding is limited to the seasonal roads; ice base reported; the club is anticipating to groom soon.
Valley Snow Travelers: No updates since February 14; all Lowville and Maples Trails CLOSED.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
