Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, January 14, 2026

More good and bad news… first with the good: significant cold is forecasted across the entire eastern coast for the second-half of January, and that means the North Country, too.
As a bonus, it looks like Mother Nature will allow for some more snow accumulation this week across the Tug Hill Plateau (though nothing major – they’re calling for 5-10-inches through early Friday, with lesser accumulation across the lower elevations).
Now for the bad news… trails have been spotty and iffy as of late.
Some clubs here locally have completely shut down altogether to preserve their base. With that said, there is still riding to be had.
Here are some of the latest trail reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:
NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates (you can also check in with your favorite snowmobile clubs for more in-depth details).
Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Upper trails remain fair to good; riding not recommended on lower trails.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: No recent updates.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Trail system remains CLOSED.

NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
