Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, January 24, 2024

Here comes the heat wave: After a weekend of riding, where conditions permitted heavy sled traffic across areas of the Tug Hill and beyond, the NWS forecast appears to be grim for snowmobilers.
With temperatures forecasted to reach into the 40’s this week, plus periods of rain, several clubs are anticipating trail conditions to deteriorate until Old Man Winter wakes up from his mid-winter nap.
Furthermore, some clubs here locally have suspended grooming until conditions improve.
If you’re up riding the trails, look out for thin spots, mud and water holes.
Here are the latest reports we’ve gathered:
NOTE: Conditions are likely and do tend to change on a moment’s notice. Be sure to keep checking our website for any updates.

This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
