Moose Snowmobile Trail Reports for Wednesday, March 5, 2025
March has arrived and the snowmobiling season continues on across Central and Northern New York.
It is that time of year… despite an absolutely incredible snowmobiling season, now is the time when folks seriously need to start considering the fact that trail conditions can change on a day-to-day basis.
Temperatures were well above freezing on Tuesday, and forecasts for Wednesday thru Thursday call for even warmer temperatures, plus rain.
Compared to a couple of weeks ago, there is a noticeable difference decrease in the snowpack, but there is still quite a bit of snow left to go (keep in mind, some cooler temperatures are predicted for this upcoming weekend).
Considering that this season has certainly been second to none, snowmobilers are certainly going to start noticing the spring like conditions on the trails.
Here are some of the latest reports we’ve gathered from around the local area:

Barnes Corners Sno-Pals: Spring conditions are slowly becoming prominent.
Brantingham Snowmobile Club: Groomers have been to Stillwater and 3-lakes.
Long Pond Sno Sled Club: Expect varying conditions.
Lost Trail Snowmobile Club: No grooming for the time being (watch for water).
Missing Link Snowmobile Club: Groomers are parked until conditions improve.
Osceola Snowmobile Association: Expect varying trail conditions.
Ohio Ridge Riders: Ride while you can (expect mixed conditions)
Old Forge/Town of Webb: Reports indicate good conditions.
Penn Mountain Snow Riders: Trails have been good, but beware of changing conditions.
Southern Tug Hill Sno-Riders: No grooming expected until the end of this week.
Trackside Blazers: Four groomers went out Monday night.
Turin Ridge Riders: Grooming is suspended until cooler weather returns.
Valley Snow Travelers: Trails on Tug Hill were groomed earlier this week.
NOTICE: Local law enforcement and snowmobile club officials are warning all riders to obey any and all rules and regulations. This includes, but is not limited to: respecting closed trails and staying off from private property. Police warn to never snowmobile while intoxicated or under the influence of any substance. Watch your speeds and remember to look out for and give right-of-way to groomers on the trails.
