
Nearly 10,000 tickets were issued during this year’s statewide Labor Day law enforcement crackdown.
During the campaign, which was partially funded by the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, New York State Troopers and local law enforcement agencies utilized sobriety checkpoints, additional DWI patrols, and ticketed impaired and distracted drivers.
In total, Troopers arrested 225 people for DWI. In the Troop D region, 27 people were arrested for drunken driving, while 278 were ticketed for speeding; 20 for distracted driving; 52 for seatbelts and 9 people who violated New York’s ‘Move Over’ Law.
989 tickets were issued during this year’s crackdown in the Troop D region.
During last year’s Labor Day weekend enforcement campaign, the State Police issued 10,240 total tickets and arrested 232 people for DWI.
