NEW: State Police reaching out to public over rightful ownership of several property items stolen in March vehicle theft spree in Port Leyden

PORT LEYDEN- State Police officials in Lewis County are attempting to identify the owners of several items recovered from a theft investigation from earlier this year.

Specifically, investigators say these numerous items all can be traced back to a spree of thefts from vehicles around the Port Leyden, NY area in March.

Property items include: welding protective equipment, facial respirator equipment, Bluetooth speaker, gloves, flashlights, pocket knives, tobacco products and vape equipment.

If there are any residents who lost property from these thefts and believe they are able to provide specific, identifying details to confirm ownership, please contact the New York State Police in Lowville, NY: 315-376-0126.

Officials will help coordinate the return of property to rightful owners.
