
ALBANY, NY- The latest statistics from New York’s Labor Department suggest that overall unemployment rates statewide have trended downward from where they were last-year.
For June, 2022, Lewis County rang-in with a 3.2% rating – down from nearly 5% last year.
Oneida County saw a similar trend with a 3.5% reading, down from 5.1% the year before. The Utica/Rome area saw just over a two-percentage drop from 5.6% last-year to 3.5% last month.
Herkimer County’s unemployment rating fell from 6% down to 3.7% and Jefferson County (including Watertown and Fort Drum) fell from 5.1% to 3.5%.
Overall, labor officials say the state’s unemployment percentage is 4.4%.
