ONEIDA COUNTY- No serious injuries were reported in the wake of a motor vehicle accident Friday evening in Northern Oneida County, authorities say.
It happened shortly after 6:00 p.m. at the intersection of State Route 12 and Kerwin Road, town of Boonville, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Shearon Weaver, no age provided, of Forestport, NY was heading south and slowed to make a left turn onto Kerwin Road.
Meanwhile, a female juvenile from Lee Center, NY, whose age and name were not provided, was trailing closely behind.
As weaver slowed up for the turn, police say the juvenile was following too closely, causing a rear-end collision.
Weaver was evaluated on scene for injuries and signed-off from any further treatment.
The juvenile suffered what police describe as “minor” injuries. She was taken to Rome Hospital via a private party for additional evaluation.
Deputies did issue the juvenile with a traffic citation.
Members from Boonville Fire Department assisted.
