Boonville man flown to SUNY Upstate following Oneida County motorcycle accident

ONEIDA COUNTY- A local man was flown to a Syracuse area hospital with injuries suffered from a motorcycle accident Thursday evening in Oneida County.

It was shortly after 7:00 p.m. when emergency responders were called out to State Route 12 in the town of Trenton, near the Plank Road.

For now, investigation via the Sheriff’s Office suggests Justin A. Smith, 28, of Boonville, NY was heading south on a 2003 Yamaha Motorcycle. He reportedly lost control and struck a guide rail.

Although police clarified injuries appeared to be non-life-threatening as of this update, they were described as “serious.”

He was flown in a Mercy Flight Helicopter to SUNY Upstate Medical Center.

Members from Barneveld Fire Department, Trenton Fire Department and Kunkel Ambulance all assisted.
