RUTLAND- Two men from the North Country are faced with felony larceny charges stemming from complaints filed in Jefferson County this week, authorities say.
David A. Sutton, 31, of Copenhagen, NY and James H. Smith, 30, of Natural Bridge, NY were both arrested by the New York State Police late Wednesday afternoon. They are formally charged with one felony count each of criminally possessing stolen property in the third-degree (>$3,000).
Furthermore, Smith was charged with a misdemeanor count of criminally possessing a controlled substance in the seventh-degree.
According to Troopers, these charges all stem from an alleged larceny incident in the town of Rutland.
At press time, the arrest statuses for both Sutton and Smith were listed as “unknown.”
