North Country resident accused of aggravated DWI in Lewis County, according to State Police patrols

DIANA- A local resident is accused of intoxicated driving in Lewis County, according to authorities.

Michael J. Houppert, 54, of Lowville, NY was arrested Sunday afternoon by the New York State Police (Carthage). Houppert is officially charged with one count each of aggravated DWI (per se w/no prior) and DWI.

Troopers say these charges were filed in the wake of a traffic stop shortly before 4:00 p.m. in the town of Diana.

At press time, police said Houppert was issued with an appearance ticket.
