LEWIS COUNTY- Governor Kathy Hochul signed a bill into law last-month that will push several local elections statewide to even years, a move that has certainly drawn up chatter among local officials.

Here in the North Country, we've asked numerous figures what they think of the new law, and it seems that some support it, while others have feelings against it.

Then, there are some who have a 'let's wait and see' attitude, such as Samantha Brown, Mayor of Constableville, NY. She joined North Country News on Monday, January 8, 2024 to give her recreation to this new law.
