North Country resident allegedly deleted husband’s unregistered Facebook account to dodge sex offender registry violation

LEWIS COUNTY- A North Country area resident is accused of deleting a social media account that belonged to her husband with aims of protecting him from a sex offender registry violation.

On Thursday, the Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Courtney L. Kloster, 29, of Carthage, NY with one felony count of tampering with physical evidence. Investigators say that Kloster allegedly deleted an unregistered Facebook account, which belonged to her husband, Shawn A. Kloster.

Police say that Courtney did this with aims of protecting her husband from a sex offender registry violation.

Following an arraignment, Courtney was remanded to the Lewis County Jail, without bail, following a probation violation.
