North Country resident charged for allegedly violating court order in Turin: LCSO

TURIN- A North Country resident is accused of violating a protection order in Lewis County, authorities say.

Jeffery M. Smith, 38, of Adams, NY was arrested on Tuesday by the Sheriff’s Office. Smith is formally charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal contempt in the second-degree.

Deputies allege that Smith violated a stay away protection order in the town of Turin on November 29.

At press time, police said that Smith was processed and released with an appearance ticket, which is returnable to Turin Town Court at a later date.
