North Country resident facing larceny charges across two townships and one village, Troopers say

JEFFERSON COUNTY- A local resident is faced with numerous larceny related charges throughout the North Country following an investigation this month, authorities say.

Michael A. Spellan, 29, of Carthage, NY is faced with numerous accusations, including a felony, from the New York State Police in Watertown and Lowville, NY.

Spellan is faced with a felony charge of grand larceny in the fourth-degree, stemming from a vehicle larceny in the town of Ellisburg, Jefferson County.

Spellan is also faced with one misdemeanor count each of petit larceny in the village of Black River, NY (Jefferson County) and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle in the town of Wilna.

Following the arrest on Monday, State Police officials said Spellan was issued with appearance tickets.

At press time, State Police in Lowville said an investigation was still pending, with evidence.

There were no further details provided to report.
