North Country teen faced with sex offense charges in Lewis County, according to State Police

DENMARK- A North Country area youth is accused of sex offense charges in Lewis County.

On Wednesday afternoon, the New York State Police (Lowville) announced the arrest of a 15-year-old youth from Carthage, NY for one felony count of rape in the third-degree (sexual contact without consent by reason of some factor other than incapacity to consent) and one misdemeanor count of forcible touching (intimate parts of another person).

A suspect name was not provided, due to their youthful offender status.

Troopers said these charges were filed from a complaint received earlier in the month in the town of Denmark.

At press time, police said an investigation was still pending.
