The Northern New York Agricultural Development Program (NNYADP) has announced it is issuing a call for on-farm research proposals.

NNYADP projects advance practical and innovative research that impacts regional farms' capacity to be economically and environmentally sustainable, and adapt to challenges such as changing market conditions, climate change, weather extremes, and emerging pests and diseases.

The New York State Legislature created the NNYADP to grow the farm and foods economy represented by the northernmost region of the state: Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.

The NNYADP Farmer Committee reviews and priority-ranks the research proposals for small grants. More than 97.5 percent of NNYADP funding goes directly to research and results delivery.

An application form and guidelines are available online (look under the About: Projects by Year tab).

The deadline to apply is October 27, 2023.
