LOWVILLE- The search for a new Village Police Chief is yielding some interest.
Since local officials announced that they would be seeking for a new figure to head the department, there have been five applications submitted, as of this report, according to the latest from WWNY-TV.
Former Chief Randy Roggie retired back in the end of June in the wake of a State Police investigation, which alleged certain misconduct, within the department, including falsified business records.
To clarify, Roggie has since pleaded not guilty to the official misconduct charge against him.
Since Roggie's retirement, former Lewis County Sheriff Michael Tabolt has been filling in as acting Chief of Police.
