BOONVILLE- The annual meeting for Boonville Area Chamber of Commerce, scheduled this week for Thursday, March 16 at the VFW, is being postponed.
“This notice is to inform chamber members, and the community, that the third and final meeting of their newly formed bylaws committee, consisting of three chamber, members and three board of directors, we're not able to come to a consensus, on March 10,” the chamber said in a statement.
“The current Board of Directors is looking now to consult with legal counsel for verification and validation for these bylaws and other legal issues. Letters will be mailed to Chamber members with more details and plans for a productive legal annual meeting.”

"Very reluctantly, the Boonville area Chamber of Commerce is postponing their annual business meeting scheduled for this Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Boonville VFW. This notice is to inform chambermembers, and the community, that the third and final meeting of their newly formed bylaws committee, consisting of three chamber, members and three board of directors, we're not able to come to a consensus, on March 10th . The current Board of Directors believe it's future directors must meet a very attainable list of qualifications, before Chamber members can nominate to vote them onto the Board of Directors. Also, this current board of directors believes that all paid members in good standing should have the right to vote. The current Board of Directors is looking now to consult with legal counsel for verification and validation for these bylaws and other legal issues. Letters will be mailed to Chamber members with more details and plans for a productive legal annual meeting. Thank you."
No re-schedule date was mentioned in the chamber’s announcement. We will update if and when a re-scheduled date is released.
