BOONVILLE- In case you missed it, the Boonville Snow Festival Committee announced this week that there is no hope for a postponement date for sled racing this year.
The committee originally announced on the evening of Monday, January 22 that the event, originally scheduled the weekend of January 26 – 28, was cancelled, due to unfavorable weather and unsafe track conditions.
With that said, committee officials originally clarified that if things worked out, they would seriously consider a potential postponement date for some time in February.
However, that glimmer of hope was squashed when board members met earlier this week. “The weather and calendar are not cooperating with us this year and we’re also not interested in competing with other races if we reschedule later in the month,” the Boonville Snow Festival II committee said in a released statement to social media.
Amidst another mild winter season, the snow fest committee hopes to host a successful event in 2025.
Keep an eye on their social media for any announcements.
