NOTICE: Bridge repair work to begin on East Main Street in Port Leyden Monday, April 24

PORT LEYDEN- Drivers are urged to take notice of some upcoming bridge repair work in Southern Lewis County.

According to Lewis County Highway Department, crews will begin repairing bridge joints on Port Leyden’s East Main Street, which crosses over Black River.

This project is aimed to begin Monday, April 24.

Highway Superintendent Timothy Hunt says the bridge will be restricted to one lane during the project. Traffic will be controlled with signals in place.

If you’re a frequent traveler over East Main Street Bridge, officials say to plan a re-route, or expect some delays until the work is finished.
