NOTICE: Milling and paving work to begin in downtown Lowville July 25

Published on July 11, 2022

ALERT

LOWVILLE- Frequent travelers and residents in Lowville are advised of some upcoming milling and paving work that is expected to impact traffic flow.

Starting at 7:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, work crews will be milling portions of Route 12 – specifically from the intersection with Route 26 to Dayan Street – then up along Dayan Street to the village line, according to a news release from the New York State DOT.

If foul weather or any other unplanned circumstances keep clear from interrupting work crews, the DOT says the first portion of this project should be complete by the evening of Thursday, July 28 – with paving to follow sometime during the second week of August.

The project will be executed via 12-hour work shifts between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. each day.

Officials say milling will be from curb to curb, which means there will be no parking allowed in the work zone.

Drivers should expect lane closures and flaggers will be established to control the traffic flow.

Motorists should seek alternate routes, or expect delays.
