NWS ALERT: Severe storms possible Thursday afternoon and evening

CENTRAL & NORTHERN NEW YORK- According to National Weather Service Forecasters, showers and scattered thunderstorms will cross the region today (Thursday, April 16, 2026).

Some of these storms may become severe. The primary severe weather risk will be damaging wind gusts, however large hail and an isolated tornado are possible.
