NWS: Freeze warnings issued for Central New York, Tug Hill regions for Thursday night

JEFFERSON, LEWIS & NORTHERN ONEIDA COUNTY- FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 P.M. THURSDAY EVENING TO 9 A.M. EDT FRIDAY.

* WHAT...Freeze Warning - sub-freezing temperatures in the mid to upper 20's expected.

* WHERE...Jefferson, Lewis Counties and Northern Oneida Counties.

* WHEN...From 11 P.M. this evening to 9 A.M. EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold. To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
