JEFFERSON, LEWIS & OSWEGO COUNTIES: HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 P.M. FRIDAY EVENING TO 4 A.M. EST SUNDAY.

* WHAT...Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph tonight, becoming southwest Saturday and Saturday night.

* WHERE...The Eastern Lake Ontario Region.

* WHEN...From 10 P.M. this evening to 4 A.M. EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.

 

ONEIDA COUNTY: WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 P.M. FRIDAY EVENING TO 6 A.M. EST SATURDAY.

* WHAT...Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Northern Oneida, Madison, Southern Oneida, Chenango and Otsego counties.

* WHEN...From 10 P.M. Friday evening to 6 A.M. EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be in areas of higher terrain and along north and west facing slopes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects.

 

OLD FORGE/WESTERN ADIRONDACKS: WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 P.M. FRIDAY EVENING TO 8 A.M. EST SATURDAY.

* WHAT...Southeast winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.

* WHERE...Eastern New York including the Helderbergs, Greater Capital Region, Mohawk Valley, northern Catskills, southern Adirondacks, Lake George Saratoga Region including Washington County.

* WHEN...From 10 P.M. Friday evening to 8 A.M. EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
