JEFFERSON, LEWIS & OSWEGO COUNTIES: FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central and western New York, including the following counties, in central New York, Jefferson, Lewis, Northern Cayuga and Oswego. In western New York, Allegany, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario and Wayne.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Showers and thunderstorms continue through Tuesday evening. Periods of heavy rain may produce amounts of 1 to 2 inches, with localized heavier amounts possible. This rainfall falling on already saturated grounds will result in the potential for flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

 

ONEIDA COUNTY: FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 P.M. EDT WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following areas, Cortland, Madison, Northern Oneida, Onondaga, Schuyler, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Southern Oneida, Steuben, Tompkins and Yates.

* WHEN...Until 2 P.M. EDT Wednesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Moderate rainfall continues to fall over the northern Finger Lakes region and western Mohawk Valley after 1-3 inches of rain has fallen in the past 12 hours. Some of these rain showers may move into Steuben county over the next few hours.
