NWS UPDATE: Lake Effect Snow Warning remains for Saturday afternoon through Sunday for Tug Hill Plateau

JEFFERSON & LEWIS COUNTIES- LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 P.M. SATURDAY TO 1 P.M. EST SUNDAY.

* WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow expected. Total snow accumulations 7 to 14 inches in the most persistent lake snows. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow in open areas.

* WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis Counties. The greatest accumulations will be across far southern Jefferson and far western Lewis counties.

* WHEN...From 1 P.M. Saturday to 1 P.M. EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult with snow covered roads and very poor visibility.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities. Submit snow reports through our website or social media.
