NYS Woodsmen’s Field Days issues final competition results, attendance numbers

BOONVILLE- The attendance at the 78th annual New York State Woodsmen’s Field Days was just shy of 26,000.

According to the Woodsmen’s office, last year’s attendance rang-in just shy of 25,000. Comparatively, this-year saw a very slight increase.

This year’s New York State Open Championship Lumberjack is Matt Cogar, of Grafton, WV. First Runner Up was Nate Hodges, of North Fork, CA and Second Runner Up was Matt Slingerland, of Sevierville, TN. The Mitch Kogut Sportsman’s Award went to Andy Schreiner, of Fulton, NY.

For the World’s Open Lumberjill Champion, Stephanie Naud, of Brigham, Quebec Canada, took home the top prize. At the same time, First Runner Up went to Samantha Graves, of Victor, NY and Second Runner Up went to Emily Brown, of Lacona, NY. Finally, the Karen Norton Sportswoman’s Award went to Cassie Slingerland, of Sevierville, TN.
